Our Process

From first conversation to handover day, our process is designed to feel calm, transparent, and well guided – so you can focus on the excitement, not the unknowns.

step one

An initial conversation

We begin with a relaxed call or workshop visit to understand how you’ll use your campervan and what matters most. We’ll talk through ideas, offer guidance, and cover practical considerations.

step two

Securing your build slot

Once you’re ready to proceed, a £5,000 non-refundable deposit secures your place in our build schedule. With your slot confirmed, you can start gathering inspiration and exploring styles and finishes.

step three

Choosing your base vehicle

We’ll help you select the most suitable base van, including size, model, and key specifications. You can supply your own vehicle, or we can assist in sourcing one.

step four

Finalising the design

Around six weeks before your build begins, we hold a detailed consultation to finalise the layout, features, and aesthetic choices. Every detail is aligned with how you want the van to feel.

step five

Build updates

Throughout the build, we keep you updated with photos and progress updates. Before handover, we complete safety checks, certifications, and confirm the final vehicle weight.

step six

Handover and aftercare

Collecting your VanKind build is one of the most exciting parts of the journey. Before you drive away, we take the time to walk you through every part of your new campervan so you feel completely confident using it.

From electrical systems and heating controls to water tanks, appliances and storage, we’ll show you exactly how everything works. You’ll have time to ask questions, test features and get comfortable with your van before heading out on your first trip.

A Complete Walkthrough

Every VanKind handover includes a detailed, instructional walkthrough of your conversion. We guide you through the key systems, demonstrate how everything works and share practical tips that will help you get the most from your van.

You’ll learn how to manage your off-grid electrical system, operate heating and water systems, refill tanks, monitor battery levels and use all onboard appliances with confidence.

Warranty & Ongoing Support

Every VanKind conversion includes a 12-month workmanship warranty, giving you peace of mind after you take delivery of your van. Many appliances and components also include their own manufacturer warranties.

Motorhomes and campervans typically carry multiple warranties — one for the base vehicle and another covering the conversion and installed components.

If you ever have questions after collection, we’re always here to help. Whether it’s troubleshooting a system, planning upgrades or simply getting advice for your next trip, the VanKind team is only a message away.

Practical Advice for Van Life

Beyond the build itself, we’ll also share helpful advice to make life on the road easier. This includes recommendations for campervan insurance, useful apps and websites for finding campsites and park-ups, and general tips for travelling and maintaining your van.

Owning a campervan opens up a whole new way to travel, and we want you to feel fully prepared to enjoy it from day one.

Campervan conversions often require specific insurance and documentation, and insurers may request details of modifications and equipment installed in the vehicle.

Your VanKind Owner Pack

When you collect your van, you’ll receive a digital and printed owner pack including system guides, maintenance tips, warranty information and useful resources to help you get the most from your build.
