From first conversation to first adventure
Commissioning a campervan conversion should feel exciting, not overwhelming. That’s why we’ve created a straightforward process that keeps you informed, involved and confident every step of the way.
From your initial enquiry through to handover day, we’ll guide you through the journey, helping shape a campervan that’s tailored to how you travel while keeping the entire experience simple and enjoyable.

Initial Consultation
We’ll take the time to understand how you plan to use your campervan, where you travel, who’s travelling with you and the features that matter most. Whether you’re considering a signature build or something completely bespoke, this is where we begin shaping your ideal van. At this stage we’ll discuss layouts, off-grid capability, design preferences, budget and timescales.

Secure Your Build Slot
Once you’re happy to move forward, a build slot deposit secures your place in our schedule. This allows us to begin planning your project and ensures dedicated workshop time is reserved exclusively for your conversion. If you haven’t sourced a vehicle yet, we can also assist with finding a suitable base van.

Design & Specification
Before the build begins, we’ll work through the finer details of your conversion. Together we’ll finalise layouts, materials, upholstery, colours, electrical upgrades, water systems, accessories and any bespoke features you’d like incorporated into the build. Our role is to guide you through the options and make recommendations based on real-world campervan experience.

Build Begins
With the design signed off, your van enters the workshop and the transformation begins. The build follows a carefully planned process, starting with vehicle preparation before moving on to the installation of windows, vents, sound deadening and insulation. From there, we complete the first fix electrical and plumbing systems, followed by the heating and water systems, cabinetry and furniture construction, and all interior finishing work.

Follow The Journey
We know how exciting it is to watch your campervan take shape. Throughout the build you’ll receive regular updates through our client portal, including photos, videos and progress reports from the workshop. This allows you to follow the transformation from empty van to completed camper, wherever you are.

Testing & Certification
Before handover, every system is thoroughly tested and inspected. This includes electrical testing, water system checks, appliance commissioning and a certified weighbridge visit to confirm the completed vehicle weight. We take the time to ensure everything performs exactly as intended before the keys are handed over.

Handover Day
The best part of the process. We’ll walk you through every aspect of your new campervan, explaining how the systems work, answering any questions and ensuring you’re comfortable operating everything before you leave. You’ll also receive your documentation, certification and handover pack. Then it’s time to start making memories.

On-going Support
Our relationship doesn’t end when you drive away. Every full VanKind conversion includes a complimentary annual habitation check for as long as you own the van. We stand behind our workmanship and want every customer to continue enjoying their campervan for many years to come.
